5 May 2011 Preparing for the Olympics- At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Oscar Pistorius Paralympics champion became the first double amputee to participate in the Olympic games. On the 14 February 2013, Pistorius fatally shot and killed his partner; model Reeva Steenkamp, in his Pretoria home. He claimed he had mistaken her for an intruder hiding in the bathroom. He was arrested and charged with murder. In 2005 he was sentenced to 13 years in prison 5 May 2011.
